科学家分析古代遗骸发现，现存的罕见品种与公元前3000年爱尔兰的山羊有着最强的基因联系。研究结果表明，爱尔兰古爱尔兰山羊有着数千年的连续血统，研究结果也提醒人们保护这一濒临灭绝的爱尔兰农业遗产。
