Super useful exercise if you can't break out of obsessive stress-inducing thoughts about "current thing"
Jump-rope is a low-impact, repetitive and meditative exercise that also helps clears the lymphatic system.
The magic twist is visualizing a ticker/counter on the wall in front of you.
Visualizing the actual numbers as they tick up - which you then have to maintain subsequent columns of second, third and fourth digits; 10s, 100s, 1000s if you keep going.
Because your motor skills are so busy, but is low-impact, they become a background process and you have to use your visual cortex and analytical mind. You can't make psychic voodoo cushions to murder, just a simple, non-abstract task you can't break focus on.
Different than resistance training where rage is useful, but can become addictive by making vitriol as fuel the thing that makes you feel most alive.
There's zero room for "GOTTDAM SONUVAFEKING EVERY SINGLE TIME" that's probably giving you cancer and causing spiritual swamp-ass. We all love you and want the best for you. It's not placating the dire-ness of x situation, you're just Loose (looshing) and gotta tighten up the mind, not just the body. A metronome can help with it as well.
(talking to myself here, if useful for others: glory up the ladder)
