Launching «Culture Shock: The Russia You Didn't Know»
🤝 Recently, our university wrapped up the Integration Days for international students. Meeting so many bright minds from all over the globe was a truly inspiring experience. As we shared our stories, we realized how unique this journey is for each of you. Russia is a vast land of incredible cultural diversity, which can often feel like a completely new world for someone visiting for the first time. To help you navigate this rich heritage and feel at home, we are officially launching a new weekly series entirely in English.
From now on, every week we will explore the traditions, customs, and daily life of Russia’s 190+ ethnic groups. Our goal is to move beyond the usual tourist stereotypes and share the genuine spirit of national unity and hospitality. We want to show how hundreds of distinct cultures live together in harmony, creating a vibrant community where everyone supports one another. No dry facts — just real, engaging insights into the country’s diverse identity.
🌎 To give you a quick glimpse of what’s ahead: do you happen to know that in some northern regions, people enjoy fresh, frozen fish sliced thin like ice cream at -50°C, while in the south, hospitality is so sacred that a guest is traditionally given the finest comforts in the house, no matter what? We invite you to discover these amazing contrasts with us. Stay tuned for our first full episode next week, and get ready for a fascinating culture shock!
