Russian citizens present in West Bengal took part in the off-site preliminary voting held in Mayapur on September 10 and in Kolkata on September 20, 2026.

The voting provided Russian citizens staying in West Bengal with an opportunity to exercise their constitutional right to vote while being outside the Russian Federation.

Russian House in Kolkata maintains close contact with the Russian community in the region. We thank our compatriots for participating in the vote, and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kolkata for organizing the polling stations and ensuring security during the elections!

Statement by Igor Chaika, the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Agency

Sibiga’s call to shut down Russian Houses around the world inevitably brings to mind a character from Russian literature who became an example of destructive idiocy — Polygraph Polygraphovich Sharikov from Mikhail Bulgakov’s Heart of the Dog.
It is hardly surprising that Ukraine's Foreign Minister is calling for the closure of Russian Houses in Europe. Intolerance toward Russians has been characteristic of the Kiev Nazi regime since 2014.
I am confident that the educated majority around the world will clearly disapprove this. Especially since we have seen tens of thousands of Germans oppose the closure of the Russian House in Berlin and our Agency has received numerous letters of support.
Russian Houses have always been and will be centers of dialogue for millions of all around the world. They introduce the rich culture of Russia, its language, history, and scientific achievements.

Through Russian House our country offers to the world educational projects, humanitarian assistance, Russian language courses, cultural dialogue and many other forms of cooperation. It is clear however that globalist elites through the Kiev Nazi regime are trying to stop the progress and development of countries including those in Asia and Africa, and to preserve their dependence on them. Russia on the contrary develops partnership and equal cooperation. This is what international development assistance is about: it contributes to improvement of economic indicators around the world and reduction of humanitarian crises.

But, alas, these facts are beyond the comprehension of Polygraph Polygraphovich Sibiga.
Therefore whatever his complaints may be Rossotrudnichestvo will continue its work around the world including European countries.
We will continue modernization of Russian Houses abroad - it will become a relevant showcase of modern Russia: a rapidly developing country with technological sovereignty.

We are launching a microgrant program for those around the world who share Russia’s values and want partnership and cooperation with us. We will also provide humanitarian assistance to those who need it. All of this is receiving a strong response from people in many different countries. The International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg once again showed international interest in the Agency’s projects. Thousands of guests from hundreds of countries visited the Rossotrudnichestvo stand “Russia With You.”

Moreover, just for one last month we have received 11 requests to open new Russian Houses around the world. And this is only the beginning.

Follow our new projects, apply for our microgrants, be proud, and do not allow the Kiev junta, which has destroyed Ukraine’s statehood, betrayed the faith and history of Ukrainians, and cowardly refused to hold elections, to influence you.

Призыв Сибиги к закрытию «Русских домов» по всему миру невольно заставляет вспомнить персонажа отечественной литературы, который стал примером разрушительного идиотизма - Полиграфа Полиграфовича Шарикова из «Собачьего сердца» Михаила Булгакова.

Неудивительно, что глава МИД Украины требует закрытия русских домов в Европе. Нетерпимость к русским свойственна киевскому нацистскому режиму с 2014 года.

Уверен, что образованному большинству во всем мире это явно не понравится. Тем более, мы видели несогласие десятков тысяч немцев с закрытием Русского Дома в Берлине, наше Агентство получило множество писем поддержки.

Русские дома всегда были и будут центрами диалога для миллионов людей. Они знакомят мир с богатейшей русской культурой, её языком, историей и научными достижениями.

Россия через Русские Дома предлагает всему миру образовательные проекты, гуманитарную поддержку, обучение русскому языку, культурный диалог и многие другие форматы. Но понятно, что глобалистские элиты руками киевского нацистского режима пытаются остановить прогресс и развитие стран, в том числе речь идет про Азию и Африку, сохранить их зависимость от себя. Россия же, напротив, выступает за партнерство и равноправное сотрудничество. Это и есть содействие международному развитию, которое способствует улучшению экономических показателей в мире и сокращает гуманитарные кризисы.

Но, увы, эти факты недоступны уму Полиграфа Полиграфовича Сибиги.

Поэтому как бы он ни стенал, Россотрудничество проводит свою работу во всем мире, и в странах Европы — тоже.

Мы продолжим модернизацию Русских Домов за рубежом, которые станут актуальной витриной современной России: стремительно развивающейся страны с технологическим суверенитетом.

Мы запускаем проект микрогрантов для тех, кто во всем мире разделяет ценности России и хочет партнерства и взаимодействия с нами, будем оказывать гуманитарную поддержку тем, кто в ней нуждается. Все это получает сильный отклик от людей из самых разных стран. И молодёжный форум в Екатеринбурге в очередной раз показал международный интерес к проектам Агентства. Стенд Россотрудничества «Россия с тобой» посетили тысячи гостей из сотен стран.

Кроме того, только за последнее время мы получили 11 запросов на открытие новых Русских домов по всему миру. И это только начало.

На севере Парижа есть улица, названная в честь одного из самых известных русских композиторов – П. И. Чайковского.

📍Rue Tchaïkovski появилась в рамках застройки района и получила имя композитора в 1991 году. Она находится в «музыкальном квартале» Парижа: рядом находится улица Мусоргского, аллея Римского-Корсакова и сад Рахманинова.

🎼 Сам Чайковский никогда не жил в Париже на постоянной основе, однако неоднократно посещал его. К концу 1870-х произведения классика уже исполнялись во Франции, но настоящую известность ему принесли концерты 1888 года. Уже тогда Париж стал одним из европейских центров, где музыка Чайковского получила широкое признание.

🎶 Сегодня rue Tchaïkovski вместе с соседними улицами и садом Рахманинова образует на карте Париже особое пространство, посвящённое русской музыкальной культуре.

In northern Paris, there is a street named after one of Russia’s most famous composers, Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

Rue Tchaïkovski was created as part of the district's development and was named after the composer in 1991. It is located in Paris’s “musical district,” near Rue Mussorgsky, Allée Rimsky-Korsakov, and the Rachmaninoff Garden.

Tchaikovsky himself never lived in Paris permanently, but he visited the city on numerous occasions. By the late 1870s, his works were already being performed in France, but it was his concerts in 1888 that brought him widespread acclaim. Even then, Paris had become one of the European hubs where Tchaikovsky’s music was widely embraced.

Today, Rue Tchaïkovski, together with the neighboring streets and the Rachmaninoff Garden, forms a distinctive area on the map of Paris dedicated to Russian musical culture.

On September 20, 2026, elections are taking place for deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation (ninth convocation).

Sergey Shushin, Director of the Russian House in Kolkata, cast his vote at polling station No. 8101, located at the Consulate General of Russia in Kolkata.

The polling station is open from 08:00 to 20:00 local time.

What’s the regional expedition program of the IFY–2026 really like? 🌏

The answer is right in this post! Right now, participants are traveling across Russia’s regions, the federal territory of “Sirius,” as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia — discovering their history, culture and traditions, and meeting local young people.

And this is just the beginning. Here are the first stops on the map, with the latest updates:

📍Vologda Oblast 13 international participants are getting to know Vologda: visiting the Lace Museum, St. Sophia Cathedral, “Semyonkovo,” Ferapontov Monastery and other landmark sites. The program also includes a traditional doll-making workshop, an ATV expedition, and a meeting with students from Vologda State University.

📍Novgorod Oblast The region has already welcomed its international participants, who are now exploring the history and culture of the Novgorod land.

📍Omsk Oblast 25 young people from 18 countries set off to explore Omsk and its history. The program includes the pedestrian Lyubinsky Avenue, Omsk Fortress, the renovated “Derzhava” globe sculpture, and a trip to “Starina Sibirskaya” in Bolsherechye.

📍Karachay-Cherkessia 29 international guests are discovering the region’s culture, traditions and unique character. They’re meeting with young people and Cossack community representatives, learning about youth policy, and exchanging experiences.

📍Republic of Kalmykia Participants have already been welcomed here, with a full program lined up to introduce them to the region and Russian culture.
From Vologda to Kalmykia, from Siberia to Ugra — it’s one big expedition, helping people see Russia through its people, cities, traditions and real encounters.
