As part of the General Debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, a high-level meeting was held to mark the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination.

🇷🇺 The Russian Federation was represented by Deputy Permanent Representative Dmitry Chumakov.

In his statement, he reaffirmed that Russia regularly reiterates its commitment to the Durban Declaration, including through the annual UN General Assembly resolution promoted by Russia on combating the glorification of Nazism.

👉 He also highlighted that an important milestone in Russia’s strategic partnership with African countries will be the Third Russia-Africa Summit, to be held in Moscow on 28-29 October.

The summit will feature a major Economic and Humanitarian Forum focused on strengthening food security and technological sovereignty, as well as cooperation in education, healthcare and culture.
