Even though this Time magazine piece was released 3 weeks ago, I still consider it to be a relevant source of a unique perspective on trying to make sense of the senseless escalation in Ukraine. Based on this, I believe that the prep for events of today was started a year ago, and Putin's unexpected July 2021 article on Ukraine was a huge red flag (no pun intended – and no pun is appropriate), an indication that the prep was well underway.

It still connects well with the most recent timeline of events that happened well after publishing, including some of the family members in question fleeing Ukraine right before the invasion, and some reports on the ground of disproportional attention to the person under house arrest in Kyiv.
