Egypt and Russia are seeking to deepen bilateral cooperation with Zimbabwe in infrastructure, defence and technology as the country pursues partnerships to support inclusive development.

The commitment emerged during separate courtesy calls by the Egyptian and Russian ambassadors on Defence Minister Hon. Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri at her offices in Harare.

The Russian Ambassador to Zimbabwe H.E. Mr. Sergei Berdnikov said Moscow was ready to expand cooperation with Zimbabwe across political, military, emergency response and high-technology sectors.

“We are looking forward to our cooperation in various spheres. First of all, of course, it’s the political dimension,” he said.

“We are also looking forward to our collaboration in the military sphere, in emergency response, and everything concerned. And every high technology we have we will share with our Zimbabwean friends, our brothers and sisters, quite definitely.”
