🇷🇺🇮🇳 The cultural programme was the important part of the 14th All-India Conference of Russian Compatriots, held on October 8-10, in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh.

🎨 On October 9, the conference delegates took part in the international festival “Ashram of Culture” dedicated to the custodians of Russia’s and India’s cultural heritage and 152nd birth anniversary of Nicholas Roerich. The compatriots visited the arts and crafts fair and presented musical performances.

🖌️ On October 10, Larisa Surgina, Russian Curator of the International Roerich Memorial Trust, guided the participants through the Roerich Estate, house museum and art gallery, which display original works by Nicholas and Svetoslav Roerich. The tour offered insights into the family’s life, philosophical pursuits and longstanding fascination with India, providing a deeper understanding of Naggar’s significance in the history of Russia–India cultural ties.

🎨 The programme also featured a painting workshop led by Olga Levchenko, a member of the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the International Association of Artists. Against the backdrop of the Himalayan mountains, the participants created their own artworks, drawing inspiration from the landscapes that once inspired the Roerich family.
