The agency asked the embassy to comment on statements made by a representative of the Danish security services that since spring and over the summer this year Russia had shifted from a planning stage to actually carrying out sabotage against the Danish defence industry.

What we are seeing are numerous statements from a variety of representatives of the Danish authorities, threatening their own population with unfounded accusations against our country. The Danish security services, in particular, are increasingly concerned with finding justifications for continuing the kingdom’s aggressive approach towards Russia, rather than seeking solutions to truly strengthen its security, which inevitably entails dialogue with Russia.

We can only interpret the recent calls in Denmark to disregard the lack of evidence for ‘hybrid threats’ from Russia as the collapse of the foundations of a democratic state governed by the rule of law.
