🎙️Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s answer to a media question on the slanderous misinformation campaign targeting the school affiliated to Russia’s Embassy to Denmark (September 9, 2026)

❓Question: On September 4, Politiken, a major mainstream Danish newspaper, published an article containing allegations on efforts by the schools at Russia’s Embassy in Denmark to what it referred to as “prepare school students for war.” What would be your comment in this regard?

💬 Maria Zakharova: We were appalled by the fake publication in the media outlet you mentioned about the secondary school at the Embassy of Russia to Denmark.

In this article, the newspaper which have long turned into a tool of tabloid-style anti-Russian propaganda and Russophobia, spreads obvious lies by presenting these far-fetched allegations within a wider context of what it pretends to be the so-called hybrid threats posed by our country. The Embassy of Russia in Copenhagen has already released a comment on this matter.

In doing so, the Danish media have carried out a political hit job to denigrate Russia and have no shied away from cynically exploiting children and school education for cultivating a sense of an all-out rejection regarding anything linked to our country, while justifying the Danish government’s hostile policy towards the Russian Federation.

Exploiting topics involving children, regardless of whether relating to Russia or any other country, is unacceptable. For us, Politiken’s media provocations amount to exerting psychological pressure and constitute an act which threatens the security of the Russian school, its students and teachers.

❗️We demand that this harassment stop immediately and urge the Danish media to focus on covering what is happening in Denmark from a more critical perspective, including the proactive effort to put the society on a war footing and spread LGBT propaganda in schools, instead of generating misinformation and manipulating the media narrative about Russia.
