Nikolay Domukhovsky, director of system integration's department USSC: "Information security comes step by step from military to commercial sphere, more and more information is becoming open".

Viktor Minin

Viktor Minin, Head of ACISO, is telling the participants about changes of CTF in Russia during the last eleven years and what's coming next. More will be this evening at the round table!

Maria Kiskachi

Maria Kiskachi, director of RuCTF 2017: "CTF is not only a competition, but also friendship!"

Magaz Asanov, director of Department of MMCS Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics UrFU: "In the first contest there were only two teams taking part, and back then no one knew that the contest will expand that much. The main thing in the competition is the victory, but participation is also a good thing".

23 teams from 5 counties will take part in the contest. We organise RuCTF in Ural Federal University for the 11th time.

The opening is starting right now in the Assembly Hall!

Welcome to RuCTF!

Good morning! First participants are coming on the registration, and that means we are starting our translation. The next four days a small team will be working for you: spokesman of RuCTF 2017 Vikenty @ktwzk, interpreter Polina @eleselta and photographer Elizaveta (the first and the second one are those to whom you can report the mistakes in Russian and English versions of translation). Today there will be the opening of XI Annual open all-Russian intercollegiate competition and conference on information protection, six presentations, battles and round table, which topic is the future of CTF in Russia and in the world. That is going to be interesting, so stay with us :)

The quest has already started, and we are ready to tell you about another novelty of this year: tomorrow we are starting a live text translation of all RuCTF events! The descriptions of presentations, the photos of presenters and the events from the game network during contest final -- all this and more will be available in our telegram channel http://t.me/RuCTF_en and on our website http://live.ructf.org/en since tomorrow morning!

P.S.: The quest will end at the bar called "The Butcher" on Malysheva, 29. Welcome!

Today on April 12 it is the Cosmonautics Day! That day 56 years ago did the first manned space flight happen. And it is the day we announce the theme of RuCTF 2017! Last year participants defended their smart homes, but this year they are going to solve their problems in space! Each team will get a spaceship-city to control, while the services will form an infrastructure of each city.

We will also tell you about a small entertainment that we are organising in the evening on April 13 for those who already arrived: it is going to be a quest-like excursion, which will start at 6 p.m. beside the building of UrFU on Lenina 51. To take part in quest, you have to register: https://goo.gl/forms/vfz9O7GwtTARjUM83

RuCTF 2017 is starting this week! 🙂

If you are a participant, you have to take with you:
1. Your passport — you will need it to confirm your identity while registering on a personal contest (only if you are a student of a Russian university not older than 25).
2. Your student ID or another document which confirms that you are a student.
3. Ethernet adapter, if your laptop lacks an Ethernet port.

We posted the full RuCTF program on our site: ructf.org/2017/en/events

Right now we are preparing additional activities for those who are going to arrive on April, 13, while the developers are finishing their preparation of services for the RuCTF final and tasks for the personal contest. By the way, sources of services from the last year's RuCTF can be found on our team's GitHub: https://github.com/HackerDom/ructf-2016
