Riyadh has increased exports, discounted crude to help offset record tanker costs, reopened Red Sea routes and relied on supertanker shuttles and ship-to-ship transfers near Oman.
Iran is now threatening to close what it calls "illegal routes" near Oman that it says are being used to move oil to larger tankers.
