🇸🇦🇾🇪⚡️- Saudi Arabia has announced the appointment of a commander, Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Salem Al‑Shuhaifi, to lead the multinational naval coalition to protect Red Sea shipping from the Houthi's.

"This appointment reflects the member states’ commitment to completing the Alliance’s leadership structure, which will strengthen its ability to carry out its defensive tasks in support of international maritime security, protect freedom of navigation, secure maritime lanes and commercial shipping, and support global efforts in the maritime domain in accordance with international laws and conventions.

The Alliance’s mission is to build a joint defensive maritime posture, coordinate planning and joint operations among member states, and carry out other maritime coalition activities and tasks in accordance with the Alliance’s documents and approved reference frameworks." - Saudi Ministry of Defence.
