🇸🇩🇸🇦🇵🇰⚡- "Saudi Arabia has asked Pakistan to halt a $1.5 billion weapons deal with Sudan and reconsider a separate $4 billion defence agreement linked to [Haftar's eastern] Libya, signalling a shift in Riyadh’s regional strategy and adding fresh uncertainty to Islamabad’s push to expand its defence footprint across Africa.

Pakistan has halted a $1.5 billion arms agreement with Sudan after Saudi Arabia withdrew financing and asked Islamabad to terminate the deal.

Sources said Western governments advised Saudi Arabia to avoid deeper involvement in proxy conflicts in Africa.

At the same time, the kingdom is reassessing external commitments as it seeks to rebuild its own military capacity amid tensions linked to Iran–US tensions," - Business Insider Africa.
