🇭🇹🇹🇩🇰🇪⚡️- Chad will send around 800 police officers to Haiti as a part of the UN’s Gang Suppression Force in an effort to reduce gang activity within Haiti.

For context, Kenya began the operation in 2024 and has seen little success, with three officers dying in the process. Kenya withdrew 215 officers on March 17th and plans to withdraw all remaining officers by April 15th.

Chad sent officers to the U.S. for training in preparation for the operation, which the State Department denies.

The new force will consist of about 5,500 personnel, with backing from the U.N. Office in Port-au-Prince, including weapons, equipment, and funding.
