World’s Most Valuable Brands: October Update
Kantar publishes its brand value ranking once a year, in May, and markets have moved a lot since. Kantar treats a brand’s value as a share of its company’s total value. We kept that share fixed and adjusted each brand by how much its parent company’s market value changed through October 14. The new top 10:
• Apple: $1.87T
• Google: $1.80T
• Microsoft: $1.60T
• Amazon: $1.25T
• NVIDIA: $1.03T
• Facebook: $473B
• Instagram: $369B
• Visa: $296B
• AMD: $256B
• Claude: ~$245B
Apple is back at #1 after a 35% rally, and chipmakers moved the most: AMD jumped from #28 to #9 and Intel from #40 to #18. Two AI-native brands are now in the top 20, Claude at #10 and ChatGPT at #16, worth $413B together. McDonald’s slid from #10 to #15, while Netflix, Telekom and Alibaba dropped out.
Kantar’s full formula also uses earnings and consumer surveys, which we can’t update. Claude’s figure is the least certain because it’s based on Anthropic’s private valuation.
