Top Aircraft Manufacturers by Market Cap

The ten biggest aircraft makers are worth ~$728B combined, and the #1 spot doesn’t belong to Boeing. Airbus leads at $172.9B, about $27B ahead of its US rival, after years of Boeing’s production and safety problems.

The rest of the list is mostly defense. Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Saab, HAL, Dassault and AVIC Shenyang all earn largely from fighter jets, bombers and military contracts, which makes up 7 of the top 10. The US holds four spots worth ~$423B, nearly 60% of the total.

The past year’s moves split the same way. Bombardier is up 55% on a business-jet boom and Saab has surged on European rearmament, while Northrop Grumman has fallen 25%.
