🗓️On October 8-9, 2026 a traditional meeting of National Commissions for UNESCO was held in Paris on the sidelines of the 225th session of the Executive Board.

🔹 The event was opened by UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany, who highlighted the important role of National Commissions in implementing the Organization’s mandate.

🔹 It was noted at the meeting that Russia had voluntarily translated into Russian the Guidelines for National Commissions for UNESCO, developed at the initiative of the Director-General.

🔹 Russia was represented at the meeting by Ms. Elena Galaktionova, Executive Secretary of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

🔹 During the discussion Ms Elena Galaktionova spoke about the activities of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and held working meetings with counterparts from other countries on the sidelines of the event.
