Ali-Sina Mostafavi was a mountaineer and athlete. He had climbed in the Himalayas and was a man full of life, with achievements, ambitions, and a future.
Ali-Sina was sentenced to death following torture, a forced confession, and a sham trial. His state killing is part of the regime’s campaign to terrorize Iranians and silence dissent.
As the Committee for Drafting Iran’s Transitional Justice Regulations has warned:
“Every execution adds to your criminal liability. Do not count on these crimes being forgotten, immunity from punishment, or forgiveness.”
Remember Ali-Sina not only for how the regime killed him, but for how he lived. Those responsible for his execution will face justice.
