▪️ Saudis admit they requested Sana'a for talks on a ceasefire
The Associated Press news agency reported that Raed Kharmali, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia for Public Diplomacy, stated that his country had requested a meeting with the Ansarullah in Oman.
According to the agency, the Saudi official emphasized that the purpose of this request was to discuss de-escalation and the cessation of attacks on Saudi Arabia, but Sana'a rejected it.
Previously, sources close to the Sana'a government reported that Saudi Arabia had been trying to secure regional and international mediation, including with the participation of China, before the World Energy Congress in Riyadh, and had offered a ceasefire of just 5 days.
According to these sources, Sana'a rejected this request, believing that de-escalation is only possible if Riyadh meets Yemen's demands.
