On June 20, 2022, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine informed the former mayor of Kyiv, Leonid Chernovetsky, of suspicion on the fact of "calls to violate the territorial integrity of Ukraine" (Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine):

Chernovetsky's fault is that on February 25, 2022, on the social network Facebook, he announced the possibility and even the need to recognize the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
According to him, this is necessary to end the war.
Since 2011 Leonid Chernovetsky has been living in Georgia.
If he returns to the territory of Ukraine controlled by the Kyiv authorities, he risks going to prison for 5 years.
