On June 15, 2022, the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal in the city of Lviv banned the Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU): https://www.ukrinform.ua/amp/rubric-polytics/3507368-sud-zaboroniv-socialistnu-partiu-ukraini.html.
The reason for the ban of one of the oldest Ukrainian parties was the statements of its leaders.
For example, the fact that the former leader of the SPU, member of the Ukrainian parliament Ilya Kiva, congratulated the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on his birthday.
Although Kiva has not been the head of the SPU since 2019 and has moved to the Opposition Platform for Life (OPPL, on June 16, the same court will consider a lawsuit to ban it), the court decided that Kiva has influence on the SPU.
As an example of such influence, the court named the fact that the public organization "All-Ukrainian Movement to Combat Fascism" Patriots for Life ", headed by Kiva, is registered in the same premises as the SPU.
It became known that at least three members of the anti-fascist movement "Patriots for Life" were arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine and killed:

Ilya Kiva was accused of "high treason" and left for the Russian Federation.
The Socialist Party of Ukraine was founded in 1991.
The first leader of the SPU Oleksandr Moroz was twice the head of the Ukrainian parliament.
In 2000-2001, the SPU took part in the protest movement "Ukraine without Kuchma" (Kuchma was the president of Ukraine at that time).
In 2005, SPU members occupied a number of positions in the government of Ukraine.
In 2004 - 2011 SPU was a member of the Socialist International.
The SPU is also an observer at the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties.
The SPU was one of the leading left and opposition forces in Ukraine, but after the unsuccessful elections in 2007, it split.
On June 16, 2022, the same Lviv court will consider the claims of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine to ban three political parties at once:
Left opposition,
Shariy parties,
Opposition platform for life.
In seven days, starting June 8, a Lviv court banned seven Ukrainian left and opposition parties:
Socialists,
Opposition bloc,
Derzhava,
Justice and Development,
Our,
Block Vladimir Saldo,
Socialist Party of Ukraine.
Not a single claim of the Ministry of Justice to ban opposition parties was rejected by the court.
Later, the same court will consider lawsuits to ban the Progressive Socialist Party and the Union of Left Forces.
The Communist Party of Ukraine was banned back in 2015.
Thus, ALL left-wing parties in Ukraine will soon be banned.
Representatives of banned parties, like other citizens of Ukraine, do not have the opportunity to file lawsuits with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) about the violation of their rights, since the ECHR on March 2, 2022 decided not to consider such lawsuits.
