On June 15, 2022, Petr Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, announced that in the city "passive resistance (to the Russian authorities) is moving from sabotage to an active phase."
Mariupol is under the control of Russian troops and the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The city has a new administration representing the DPR, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
The mayor of the city of Boychenko, representing the Kyiv authorities, together with his adviser Andryushchenko, moved to the territory controlled by the Kyiv authorities.
Andryushchenko reports that the act of sabotage was the burning of two cars and three trailers in Mariupol on June 9.
The equipment belonged to the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
An adviser to the former mayor calls the murder of an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Mariupol an "active phase of resistance".
On June 11, in line for humanitarian aid, an unidentified man stabbed him with a knife.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations includes the fire service, the rescue service and other services.
