March 20, 2022 Zelensky has already banned the activities of the Socialist Party and ALL left-wing parties in Ukraine for the duration of martial law.
Now "Socialists" is completely banned in Ukraine.
The lawsuit to ban socialists in Ukraine was filed by the Ministry of Justice after the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) approached it with a proposal to ban it.
Ministry spokeswoman Christina Gan said in court that Socialist leader Yevhen Anoprienko "acts in the interests of the Committee for the Salvation of Ukraine." Also, the Socialist party and the content of its website and Facebook page are aimed at popularizing the party and criticizing the current Ukrainian government ".
Also, the former leader of the Socialist Party, Leonid Kozhara, in an interview in July 2015, criticized the Kyiv authorities for not implementing the Minsk agreements and unwillingness to negotiate with the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.
The court considers such activity of the party "pro-Russian".
These arguments became the basis for the banning of one of the leftist parties in Ukraine.
Also on June 18, 2017, representatives of the Socialists party went to a demonstration of protest against the renaming of the Red Army General Vatutin Avenue in Kyiv to the Nazi collaborator Shukhevych Avenue, but were severely beaten by neo-Nazis from the Azov and C14 formations. All party property was confiscated by court order.
On June 8, 2022, the same court in Lviv banned the Opposition Bloc party.
On June 16, courts will be held to ban the Sharia Party, the Left Opposition, the Opposition Platform for Life.
Later, courts will be held to ban all left and most opposition parties in Ukraine.
