Yan Taxiur was arrested by the Security Service of Ukraine on March 10, 2022 and charged with "high treason".

"On May 26, a regular hearing was held on the case of the Ukrainian poet and Orthodox publicist Jan Taksyur.

During the court session, flagrant violations were revealed during the pre-trial investigation, which were shared by the daughter of Yan Ilyich Mariko.

Yan Ilyich lived all his life in Ukraine. Writer for over 30 years. He wrote satire in front of all presidents, criticizing them. But in July 2021, the SBU opera saw in his works, sometimes years old, signs of treason. For example, in articles under the following headings: “Fascism will not pass or the Banner of Victory in the darkness of Enslavement”, “Classics in Ukraine or return the Russian book to Kyiv!”, “With a new evil or the USSR dreams more and more often”, “The tale of lost literacy, or Salvation by the Lukomorye. The case was hastily concocted, from evidence that these works (especially the slogan "fascism will not pass!") Draw on high treason - only a psychological and linguistic examination. That is an expert opinion.

There are many blunders in the case - for example, in two sheets of the indictment, automatically (without reading or checking) paragraphs from the indictment Anatoly Shariy, with his last name, are inserted. Those. one gets the impression that the accusations from the Sharia act were copied into the Taxyur act and the careless prosecutors even forgot to change their surname!

As for me, the 95th quarter and many, not only opposition politicians, expressed disproportionately tougher and more critical things about the authorities. However, they decided to recoup on Jan Taksyur. The prosecution did not explain how, for example, the article “Fascism will not pass”, written in 2015, can violate the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of 2020, can encroach on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and draws on high treason! And so many other accusations.
Yan Taksyur is almost 70 years old, he is a writer and an Orthodox publicist, and not a hardened criminal, but he is thrown into a pre-trial detention center without access to a lawyer, without the right to defense, without any information to his relatives (only that he is accused of a particularly serious crime) .

Jan Taxiur has been in jail since March 10. The next meeting is coming soon and we can only hope for the objectivity and impartiality of the court."
