May 22, 2022 The Wall Street Journal writes that the National Police of Ukraine arrested the mayor of the village of Dymer (near Kyiv), Alexander Kharchenko, appointed by Russian troops.
On February 25, the Russian army occupied Dymer, but left the village a month later. On April 1, Ukrainian troops took control of Dymer again.
Alexander Kharchenko (pictured) headed the Russian-created administration. He suggested reopening essential local services.
On March 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense published a video showing the Russian military distributing food to local residents. At the same time, Kharchenko asked them not to be afraid of the Russians.
It was this video that became "proof of the collaboration activities" of Alexander Kharchenko.
For the resumption of public services and the organization of humanitarian assistance, he, like other representatives of the administrations in the territories under the control of Russian troops, may end up in prison for 15 years.
Now the Kyiv authorities are conducting a campaign of arrests and even assassinations of representatives of such administrations. The purpose of this campaign is to intimidate Ukrainians so that they do not have any contact with the authorities and troops of the Russian Federation.
