On the morning of May 22, 2022, an attempt was made on the life of the mayor of Energodar (under the control of Russian troops) Andrey Shevchik.

The terrorists planted an explosive device in the entrance of the house where does Shevchik's mother live.

The explosion occurred when the mayor was leaving the house. However, Shevchik himself was not injured.

Energodar was founded in 1970 near the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).

In March 2022, Energodar is occupied by Russian troops.

On May 11, the management of Energoatom fired three ZNPP employees for taking part in the action in memory of the fighters against Nazism on Victory Day on May 9, 2022.

Also, the adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, and other representatives of the Kyiv authorities stated that there is a special service that kills people objectionable to this government in the territories controlled by Russian troops.
