On April 7, 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 022, we analyzed the information of the Prosecutor General's Office on criminal cases that the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine are investigating, starting from February 24, 2022.

On May 12, the prosecutor's office released new information.

The total number of criminal cases under articles on "war of aggression", "high treason", "infringement on territorial integrity", "sabotage", for the week from May 5 to May 12, increased from 14,554 to 16,261, that is, by 1,707 ( increased by 1772 over the previous week). That is, the prosecutor's office opened an average of 244 criminal cases per day.

Over the past week, from April 28 to May 5, the number of criminal cases increased by an average of 253 per day.

Characteristically, the number of those accused of "waging an aggressive war" (Article 437 of the Criminal Code, under which the left-wing activist from Dnepropetrovsk Alexander Matyushenko is accused) has not increased in the three weeks since April 21. Like three weeks ago, the prosecutor's office accused only 49 citizens of "waging an aggressive war."

Apparently, the security forces of the Kyiv authorities realized that it is difficult to prove the guilt of people under this article in court even in the conditions of the militaristic hysteria that now reigns in Ukraine.

At the same time, the number of those charged with "infringement on territorial integrity" has increased significantly, from 3059 to 3428 (Article 110, it mainly prosecutes bloggers and those who expressed an opinion that differs from official propaganda).

That is, 53 Ukrainians are accused under this article every day.

The number of people accused of "high treason" (Article 111 of the Criminal Code) also increased during the week - from 779 to 843.

That is, an average of 9 citizens a day were accused of treason over the past week.

In general, it can be said that the pace of repression, judging by the growth in the number of criminal cases, increased in March - early April. Since mid-April, they began to fall somewhat.

But since the beginning of May 2022, the pace of repression has begun to increase again and is now at a high level.
