On May 12, 2022, the State Migration Service of Ukraine will check all Russians living in the country, and will also revise the list of grounds for their residence. This was announced by the head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine Natalia Naumenko.
“Together with law enforcement agencies, we are conducting a full audit of the grounds for temporary or permanent residence for citizens of the Russian Federation. In order to single out those who can carry out certain activities against Ukraine,” the head of the department said.
Earlier, we reported that on April 29, the director of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine, Oleksiy Sukhachev, said that the SBI, together with the Security Service of Ukraine and the police, was searching for, checking and conducting "filtration measures" against more than 11,000 Russian citizens who entered Ukraine before February 24, 2022.
That is, we should expect a new wave of inspections, searches, raids, arrests, "filtration measures" and deportations.
The State Migration Service also reported that more than 150,000 citizens of the Russian Federation legally reside in Ukraine.
