The head of the regional military administration Maxim Marchenko introduced a "curfew" in the Odessa region from 22-00 May 8, 2022 to 5-00 May 10.
During the curfew, citizens are forbidden to leave their homes.
Anyone who goes outside without special permission will be detained.
Earlier, a "curfew" on May 9 in the city was introduced by the authorities of Zaporozhye. The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk invited residents to leave the city on May 9.
The purpose of introducing a "curfew" in the cities of Ukraine is to prevent Ukrainians from celebrating Victory Day over Nazism in the Great Patriotic War.
Starting from 2014, in Ukraine, the actions on Victory Day actually turned into a movement of resistance to the Kyiv authorities and the Nazis.
Every year, Ukrainians went to the monuments to the soldiers of the Red Army with red flags and portraits of relatives who participated in the Great Patriotic War.
And every year since 2014, these gatherings have been attacked by far-right groups with police inactivity.
The monuments to Soviet soldiers on the territory controlled by the Kyiv authorities have mostly been destroyed.
