On May 6, 2022, in the city of Brovary (near Kyiv), following Konotop, the local authorities banned the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
Mayor Brovaryov said that the city council "established the protection of real estate objects" by the UOC and "introduced a special mode of operation" of these objects for the duration of martial law.
Also, the city council banned any rallies and meetings in Brovary.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, local authorities do not have the authority to ban churches or rallies.
