On the territory of Ukraine controlled by the Kyiv authorities, they begin to "prepare" for the Victory Day on May 9.
Mayor of Zaporozhye (central Ukraine) Anatoly Kurtev announced a "curfew" from 19-00 on May 8 to 5-00 on May 10.
During the "curfew" Ukrainians are forbidden to leave their homes. Anyone who is on the streets of the city at this time will be detained.
At the same time, the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk (western Ukraine) Ruslan Martsinkiv called on citizens to stay at home or leave the city on May 7, 8 and 9.
Thus, the authorities want to prevent Ukrainians from celebrating Victory Day over Nazism.
Over the past 8 years, Ukrainians, despite opposition from ultra-right groups and the police, have taken to the streets en masse.
At the same time, people were holding red flags and portraits of relatives who participated in the fight against Nazism.
Thus, Victory Day on May 9, from an administrative holiday, as it was before, it turned into a movement of resistance to the order established by the Kyiv authorities.
On May 9, 2014, armed clashes took place in Mariupol between Mariupol residents on the one hand and ultra-right formations and the army on the other.
The leader of the Nazi Azov Regiment said that the Ukrainian army could strike with long-range artillery on Mariupol (under the control of Russian troops and the People's Militia of the Donetsk People's Republic) on May 9, 2022.
For the whole day on May 2, 2022, a "curfew" was also declared in Odessa so that Odessans would not come out to honor the memory of the victims of the Odessa tragedy on May 2, 2014.
