On April 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2022, we analyzed the information of the Prosecutor General's Office on criminal cases that the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine are investigating, starting from February 24, 2022.

On May 5, the prosecutor's office released new information.

The total number of criminal cases under articles on "war of aggression", "high treason", "infringement on territorial integrity", "sabotage", for the week from April 28 to May 5, increased from 12,782 to 14,554, that is, by 1772 (increased by 1595 in the previous week). That is, the prosecutor's office opened an average of 253 criminal cases per day.

Over the past week, from April 21 to April 28, the number of criminal cases increased by an average of 228 per day.

Characteristically, the number of those accused of "waging an aggressive war" (Article 437 of the Criminal Code, under which the left-wing activist from Dnepropetrovsk Alexander Matyushenko is accused) did not increase over the week. Like a week ago, the prosecutor's office accused only 49 citizens of "waging an aggressive war."

Apparently, the security forces of the Kyiv authorities realized that it is difficult to prove the guilt of people under this article in court even in the conditions of the militaristic hysteria that now reigns in Ukraine.

At the same time, the number of those accused of "infringement on territorial integrity" has increased significantly, from 2659 to 3059 (Article 110, it mainly persecutes bloggers and those who expressed an opinion that differs from official propaganda).

That is, 57 people are accused under this article every day.

The number of people accused of "high treason" (Article 111 of the Criminal Code) also increased over the week - from 701 to 779.

That is, an average of 11 citizens a day were accused of treason over the past week.

In general, it can be said that the pace of repression, judging by the growth in the number of criminal cases, increased in March - early April. Since mid-April, they began to fall somewhat.

But from the beginning of May 2022, the pace of repression began to increase again.
