On May 5, 2022, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the detention of one of the leaders of the public organization "Ukrainian Choice" Alexander Tarnashinsky.

The chairman of the "Ukrainian Choice" is the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk.

Medvedchuk was detained earlier. Zelensky offered the Russian Federation to exchange Medvedchuk for representatives of the Nazi formation "Azov", which is surrounded on the territory of Mariupol.

Perhaps Tarnashinsky will replenish the "exchange fund" - people whom the SBU detains in order to exchange them for captured Ukrainian or American, Canadian or European military.

The SBU claims that Tarnashinsky's fault is that he "developed the concept of people's autocracy."

During the search, documents and seals of the public organization, draft copies, and a letter from the Putin administration stating that his appeal had been received by this administration were confiscated from Tarnashinsky.
