On May 2, on the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Odessa tragedy of 2014, when ultra-rightists burned 48 opponents of the Maidan in the House of Trade Unions, the authorities announced a "curfew".
Odessans were forbidden to leave their homes. But still, some violated the ban.
The speaker of the patrol police said that the police detained 15 citizens who were on the streets of Odessa. Correspondences and photos with subscribers from Russia were found in the phones of some of them.
These people were handed over to investigators for further clarification of the circumstances.
This official statement by police officials confirms the fact that law enforcement agencies are conducting checks on the contents of Ukrainian phones on the territory controlled by the Kyiv authorities.
And if suspicious content is found, citizens are detained and criminal prosecution begins.
Earlier we reported on such checks and detentions in Nikolaev, Krasny Liman, Bucha and other cities of Ukraine.
