On May 3, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law that significantly simplifies the procedure for banning opposition parties.
330 deputies of parliament voted for this law, including 17 deputies of the Opposition Platform for Life (OPPL) opposition party.
On March 20, Zelensky already, contrary to the Constitution of Ukraine, banned the Opposition Platform for Life and ALL left-wing parties in Ukraine for the period of martial law.
Whether a party is "pro-Russian" and therefore subject to a ban will be determined by an administrative court in Lviv.
An appeal against the decision to ban parties will be considered by the Supreme Court of Ukraine. And his decision will be final.
It can be expected that within a month after the adoption of this law, all leftist and opposition parties in Ukraine will be finally banned by the court.
