On April 28, 2022, the prosecutor's office of the Mykolaiv region accused a 54-year-old resident of the city of Pervomaisk of "justifying or denying the aggression of the Russian Federation" (Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and "resisting law enforcement agencies" (Article 342).
The woman is in custody and she could be behind bars for 3 years.
According to the prosecutor's office, her fault is that she expressed her opinion on social networks about the war in Ukraine, which does not coincide with the official statements of the Kyiv authorities.
She also resisted the law enforcement officers who came to detain her. The moment of "resistance" is recorded in the photo.
On March 3, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law "on strengthening criminal liability for the production and distribution of prohibited information products."
This law introduced Article 436-2 into the Criminal Code. The arrest of a woman in Pervomaisk became one of the applications of this article.
