On April 7, 14 and 21, we analyzed the information of the Prosecutor General's Office on criminal cases that the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine have been investigating since February 24, 2022.
On April 28, the prosecutor's office released new information.
The total number of criminal cases under articles on "waging a war of aggression", "high treason", "encroachment on territorial integrity", "sabotage", increased from 11,187 to 12,782 in the week from April 21 to April 28, that is, by 1,595. Or 228 criminal cases per day.
Over the past week, from April 14 to April 21, the number of criminal cases increased by an average of 250 per day.
A week ago, there were 591 defendants in the "main" case of aggression by the Russian Federation. Now - 620.
That is, there were 29 more accused.
Characteristically, the number of those accused of "waging an aggressive war" (Article 437 of the Criminal Code, under which the left-wing activist from Dnepropetrovsk Alexander Matyushenko is accused) increased slightly over the week - from 46 to 49.
At the same time, the number of those accused of "infringing on territorial integrity" has increased significantly, from 2280 to 2659 (Article 110, it mainly prosecutes bloggers and those who expressed an opinion that differs from official propaganda).
That is, almost 55 people are accused under this article every day.
Also, the number of people accused of "high treason" (Article 111 of the Criminal Code) increased from 609 to 701 during the week.
That is, an average of 13 citizens a day were accused of treason over the past week.
In general, it can be said that the pace of repression, judging by the growth in the number of criminal cases, increased in March - early April. But since mid-April, they began to fall somewhat.
