On July 17, 2022, in the city of Melitopol (Zaporozhye region, under the control of the Russian authorities), leaflets appeared with death threats to people who remained at their jobs after the capture of the city by the Russian army.

Threats are sent on behalf of the "Melitopol partisans".

The purpose of such attempts and murders is to disorganize the work of the new government.

At the same time, on July 18, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that it had reported in absentia that it was carrying out "complex actions" against a teacher, a deputy of the district council, a prosecutor, a customs officer and a prosecutor in the Kherson, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are under the control of the Russian authorities : https://t.me/SBUkr/4645.

On July 17, Zelensky said that more than 60 employees of the SBU and the prosecutor's office remained in the territory controlled by the Russian authorities and are cooperating with it.

Also on July 17, Zelensky fired SBU head Ivan Bakanov and Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova.

However, one should not expect that the new leadership will change the attitude of law enforcement agencies towards human rights in Ukraine.
