The organizers of this action say that in this way they want to remind the authorities of the Baltic countries about the values of human rights.
The governments of Lithuania and Latvia support the Kyiv authorities with finances and weapons.
On June 17, 2022, the Lithuanian authorities blocked land communication between the Russian Federation and the Kaliningrad region, which is part of the Russian Federation, but separated from it by the territory of Lithuania.
