This is where I grew up.
20 years ago we had strong community vibes here.
Hardly anyone used headphones. Instagram didn’t exist and we learned about lifting through trial & error, then talking about it.
But now everyone has their own little online empire. Everyone is in their phones and avoids communicating since they’re already an expert on everything, because some YouTube charlatan has them following ‘the perfect facts-based protocol’.
But you’ll always learn more about your own body through taking risks and trying new things.
The internet can be a great resource but listen to your body first, be affable and make friends in the gym. Community and anecdotal experience is worth more than the ‘experts’ will ever admit.
