I don't want to be seen
Or maybe I do
I don't know, there's just something about life
It isn't what it seems
You go up and go down
Searching as if something will be different
Even tho it never will
I wonder sometimes
What if I did the thing that others want me to do
What then?
I see a mirror that shows exactly that
I'm scared at first but gathering the courage I stand in front of it
I see blurry
Or at least I thought I did
I rubbed my eyes in the hope of seeing something but... Nothing
Turns out, if I did indeed do what people intended me to do, I wouldn't be here
Not because they harm me, it's because they do worse
Slowly biting at me, pulling me apart piece by piece like petals on a rose
wilting to it's demise but still serving you with every scent it has to offer
Every penny
But sooner or later it would turn pale and petal-less
I would fade into nothing but a mere stick
Useless and with thorns
But I've gone my own way, apparently the way that supposedly "keeps me alive"
It's funny to me, even though you feel like you're suffering you're living the best version of yourself
Whether you like it or not
I step away from the mirror and stare down at my hands
The same hands that would hurt me
"I'm better than them" I say
"You can live
Sure, you don't know if you want to be seen or just be left alone
But that's the beauty of a paradox, take it out leave it"
