The world was grey a canvas drained of light
I wandered shadows silent sentinels of night
Then you appeared a sudden spark a thief of gloom
Our eyes collided heartbeat stealing the room
Shy smiles exchanged innocence in a glance
I stepped toward you trembling at the chance
Words stumbled like shards thoughts wrapped in wire
Yet for a fleeting moment hope and fear caught fire
Days later the park embraced our hesitant walk
City lights like fireflies soft as whispered talk
Your laugh a gentle bell in the evening air
My chest uncloaked from shadows, yet silence lingered there
The breeze tangled strands of hair molten gold
Moments fragile as glass a story quietly told
Even shadows leaned close curious to hear
The secret rhythm of hearts drawing near
Oh the thrill of hope a fragile blazing light
Every unsaid word a dagger in the night
Your laughter danced on paths I could not tread
I held my truth like glass too sharp to shed
Talks grew thin distance creeping like a vine
Your fleeting warmth dimmed a subtle sign
I saw your shadows where my hands should have met
A hollow ache rising with every regret
The park returned in echoes city hum a muted refrain
Yet nothing escaped the fortress I built in vain
The moon remembers steps my courage never claimed
Silver paths where our names were once softly named
You drift away currents pulling you from my side
I linger in shadows watching the tide
Bridge
Then I saw him there a sun in your bright sky
A quiet inferno flaring burning silently inside
Lips locked on words my fear refused to say
Every glance from afar a scorching display
My chest a furnace bones smoldering unseen
Ashes of love unsaid scattered in between
The streets hum my pain city lights blink and sigh
I trace your face in memory as night drifts by
Oh the park keeps secrets streets hum in quiet ache
I fade from your story a ghost that cannot wake
Yet still I linger in fragments of silvered glance
The night unwritten leaving love to chance
