How to write a complete graphical application in C++?

I'm a self-taught C++ beginner. I know how to write small programs of a few hundred lines in Visual Studio, but I've never written a large project like a full-fledged graphical application in any other language.

Can someone tell me how to do this? Or how should I learn? How many files are needed? What modules will it be divided into? What is the workflow? I'd really like to know the process of writing a complete graphical application and how to learn it.

Thank you very much.
