White board filled out before examiner arrives for PPL check ride?

I just did a mock check ride with another instructor than I normally have been working with today. When I arrived he was waiting and stated I should have already had the white board filled out with anything needed for the check ride such as ATOMATOFLAMES, V-Speeds, PAVE, etc before the examiner arrives. It totally through me off and I stated isn’t that kind of cheating and not showing the examiner I know all this information. Question for the community, Is this normal, and something I should do for my actual Check ride coming up?
