Today, 19 September, a demonstration was held at Elielinaukio next to Helsinki Central Station in support of Russian opponents of the war who are threatened with deportation to Russia. The event was organised by the association Queer Asylum: Finland (QA:FI) and other organizations. QA:FI considered it as part of the campaign “FSB:n käsiin, Itärajalle” (“Into the hands of the FSB, to the Eastern border”). This was the fifth public action of the campaign. Pictures by @aonnekoski. Helsinki, 27 June 2026 — Members of QA:FI took part in the Helsinki Pride 2026 march with a performative action dedicated to queer people who cannot safely and openly express their identities in their home countries.

As part of the action, participants joined the march wearing masks, black-and-white clothing, and carrying black-and-white rainbow flags. Pictures by @vkboy . Read more at qafi.org.
