Middle East Eye reported that Spanish arms manufacturer General Dynamics European Land Systems–Santa Bárbara Sistemas is supplying Latvia with infantry fighting vehicles fitted with Israeli-made turrets manufactured by Elbit Systems.

Latvia ordered 84 Mednieks combat vehicles in a contract worth approximately €800 million, with deliveries expected to continue through 2029. The vehicles use Elbit's UT30 MK2 unmanned turret system.

This deal comes more than a year after the Spanish government, led by Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, announced a wide-ranging arms embargo on Israel due to its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
