Israeli occupation forces have detained more than 2,000 Palestinian children since October 2023, with at least 350 still held in Israeli prisons under conditions involving torture, starvation, solitary confinement and denial of medical care, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.

The organization warned that the documented figures do not fully account for children detained in Gaza, where enforced disappearances have left many families unaware of their children's fate.

It highlighted the death of Palestinian child Walid Khaled Ahmad in Megiddo Prison in March 2025, amid evidence of severe malnutrition and dehydration.
