Britain's Green Party has become the first mainstream political party in the UK to formally adopt the position that Zionism is racism, passing the motion 1,022 to 813 at its biggest ever conference in Brighton.

The motion defines Zionism as an ethnonationalist ideology whose real-world result has been the dispossession and destruction of the Palestinian people, and also calls for a single democratic Palestinian state, freedom for Palestinian political prisoners, and Palestinians' right to resistance.
