An Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in western Gaza City killed at least five people, including four women, and severely wounded at least six others, according to medical sources.

The strike hit the Al-Asala building in the overcrowded Rimal neighborhood early Saturday, without prior warning, while residents were asleep.

Among the victims were a Christian mother and her daughter.
